The DCSF Story – Week 2

DMS STEM & Fine Arts Resource Center!

One of the many programs we funded in 2016/17 was the DMS STEM and Fine Arts Resource Center. Marshauna Graves, a DMS parent, saw a need and jumped into action! Marshauna and DMS Principal Ms. Fusi developed a STEM initiative to:

  • Provide learning opportunities through field trips to support STEM and Fine Arts.
  • Provide a variety of current STEM resources for teachers.
  • Provide classroom enhancements for STEM and Fine Arts.
  • Identify STEM guest speakers.
  • Create a STEM and Fine Arts bridge to DHS.

DMS Principal, Deborah Fusi had this to say: “STEM activities, such as field trips, technology tools, and academic competitions are critical in providing authentic, real world learning opportunities for our children. Funding from the Duluth Cluster Schools Foundation supported Duluth Middle’s efforts to prepare students for career paths in math, science, and technology by transforming the classroom to include more STEM enrichment opportunities.”

Because of the generous support from people like you, DCSF will continue to fund initiatives like this one!

Our goal is $25 per family, but all contributions are welcome! Please give now!
